Automatic Compressed Air Defrost System

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Automatic Compressed Air Defrost System is used to extend the operation time of the freezer.
The excess moisture from the infeed product surface and infiltrations from freezer inlet and outlet openings turns in to frost. After long operating hours, the frost built up blocks off the air flow through the evaporator, thus reduces the heat transfer efficiency of the freezer.
The ACADS removes the frost by sending pulses of blast air to blow off the frost built up on the evaporator coil surfaces.
The ACADS consisting of Air nozzles, Air distribution manifold, Air delivery hoses, Air receiver, control valves, moving tracks and final stage of air dryer, air filter. The supply air have to be provided by the customer with strict requirement of -40 F dew point and 70 F temperature.
FUNCTIONS:
The Function of the Automatic Air Defrost System is to remove frost from the evaporator fin and tube surfaces by the short blast of compressed air from the nozzles.
The ACADS valves on the receiver receive electrical impulses from the control panel. The adjustable timer combine with limit switches controls the forward and backward movement of the air supply manifold and the air blast signals.
The Air supply manifold will travel the width of the coil and microswitch is located at proper location for reversing the air supply manifold travelling direction.
The Blast will deliver to the left half of the coil first and then the right half. It will increment 2 inches distance and then blast again.
